BHADERWAH,JAN 17 (KNO) : Senior Congress leader and former Minister Mohammad Sharief Naiz who is on tour of various areas of Bhaderwah constituency from the last one month today addressed a public meeting at Bhaderwah town wherein large number of local people participated. Earlier, Congress workers and local people gathered there interacted with the senior Congress leader and apprised him of their several grievances and problems.They also highlighted lack of development of the area besides raising other issues. Locals requested former minister Mohammad Sharief Naiz to take up the issues concerning them including unscheduled power cuts in rural belts , discrimination in Rehbar -e-Khal posts with Bhaderwah , pick and choose in transfers , and shortage of doctors in SDH Bhaderwah Addressing the public meeting, Mohammad Sharief Naiz said that PDP-BJP Coalition Government has totally failed to address the problems of the people of the State.”Since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of J&K have increased manifolds especially of Bhaderwah constituency . While the BJP cheated people of Jammu, the people of Kashmir were cheated by the PDP,” Naiz said. He said that all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled.“More than three years have passed but they have failed to fulfill any of the promises made with Bhaderwah people , be it the opening up of Bhaderwah Chamba road , Bhaderwrah Gundoh road ,special employment drive this Government has done nothing to address those problems,” he said.While attacking the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the centre, Naiz said that since the change of guard happened in New Delhi, the prices of essential commodities have increased manifold.”The ever increasing inflation is taking a toll on the common masses of this country,” he said. Naiz also said that the people of Bhaderwah are themselves responsible for the non-development of the area as they voted heavily in favour of that candidate, who is not paying any attention to the Bhaderwah Assembly Constituency. He criticized present BJP-PDP government for not taking up the development works being started by the Congress when it was holding the dispensation in the state. He said PDP leaders from Bhaderwah want to divide the people of Bhaderwah and Bhalessa nut he never opposed the district status to Bhaderwah and want full fledged Bhaderwah district .On the occasion many BJP and PDP workers joined Congress .Later Congress workers also took out a protest procession which after passing through various areas culminated at ADC office Bhaderwah where former Minister along with workers submitted a memorandum of demands about burning issues related to Bhaderwah to ADC Imam Din.Naiz further said that if no appropriate action is taken then he will also protest with the people of the area against the present government.Prominent who were present in the meeting include block president Bhaderwah Ashok Sharma , former Councillor Sohail Malik , Mohd Ashraf Butt , Zahoor Fazal , Owais Chowdhary , Sardar Mohd , Imran Tariq and others .(KNO)
